Following the super success of 'Chennai Express', interest in Shah Rukh Khan and director Farah Khan's 'Happy New Year' has increased tremendously. And it's got a UAE connection! The shooting for 'Happy New Year' that also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and Sonu Sood, began in Dubai on 1 September, as we reported earlier.
Today (2 September) saw Abhishek join in the shoot at Dubai's Atlantis The Palm and he was quick to tweet, "Today, starts a new journey. Lets hope it ends in a ' Happy New Year '. #HappyNewYear wish me luck guys. Need it!"
Junior Bachchan added later, "Here we go! @iamsrk @TheFarahKhan @deepikapadukone @bomanirani @sarahjanedias03 @SonuSood #HappyNewYear."
Farah also received wishes galore from her friends such as Jacqueline Fernandez, Shrishti Arya, Tanuj Garg, Sujoy Ghosh and others.
Hubby Shirish Kunder too wished his wife all the best as she embarked on one of her biggest films of her career. Incidentally, Shirish, who had edited her previous films, 'Main Hoon Na', 'Om Shanti Om' and 'Tees Maar Khan' will not be editing this one. It may be because of the Shah Rukh factor however the doting hubby tweeted, "Happy New Year starts shooting today! Wishing @TheFarahKhan All The Very Best. Love You Farah.''
Meanwhile, Farah, it appeared, was soaking in the atmosphere for a while at Atlantis The Palm as she tweeted a pic of herself relaxing by a pool. However, the tough taskmaster did not have fun but business on her mind as she tweeted, 'Last of the glamorous pics shoot shuru."
Sonu Sood joined the star cast on 2 September while Deepika Padukone, who is reportedly in Europe for a well-deserved family holiday, will be joining the unit soon.
'Happy New Year' has been in the pipeline since 2005 and it's also undergone a lot of cast changes. Earlier John Abraham had been considered for the role which is now allegedly being done by Sonu Sood. Reports say the Khans – Farah and Shah Rukh – are planning to make 'Happy New Year' a Diwali 2014 release. If true, rest assured that it will be one dhamakedaar Diwali! More-Info
