Manish Malhotra has been busy doing the rounds of The Dubai Mall since the last few days. However, the ace designer who has often said that Dubai is like his second home, wasn't shopping for himself. Checking in and out of various high street stores, Manish was actually scouting for outfits for Deepika Padukone, the heroine of 'Happy New Year', which is currently being shot in Dubai with all its stars.
The Farah Khan movie starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika, Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Sarah Jane Dias is being shot entirely in Dubai this September. The story is reportedly about five men who have left feet and a Maharashtrian girl who is an excellent dancer.
Not much is known about Shah Rukh's look for the film though Farah had tweeted a few days back, "Just finished costume trials with @iamsrk ..wah sir, kya look invent hua hain."
When Masala.com caught up with Manish, he was pretty secretive about his shopping jaunts and seemed reluctant to dish out the details. "I can't say much about the film," he said. Considering the secrecy with which the shoot is being conducted at Atlantis The Palm, it was quite understandable but we managed to get him to reveal a few secrets anyway!
Apparently Deepika will be playing a very simple yet fashion-obsessed girl in the first half of the film. She supposedly tries to copy looks from magazines but fails miserably. But towards the latter part of 'Happy New Year', she transforms into a hot, gorgeous girl who will be seen in the most stunning outfits.
"I have bought a lot of stuff for her from high street brands so far," Manish said. "I am not present on the sets too much. However, it's a lot of fun. With Farah around, it always is."
Manish who is styling only Deepika for the movie seemed extremely thrilled about working with her. The two had collaborated earlier on some of Deepika's biggest hits including 'Om Shanti Om', 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and 'Chennai Express' . "All the films I have done for her have turned out to be blockbusters," he quipped. More-Info
