On a trip to Dubai to promote 'Chennai Express' with his co-star Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan did what he does best - he charmed everyone with his remarkable wit and floored them with his repartee. For an SRK press conference, the meet, organised by Dream Advertising and Ministry of Events, wasn't too delayed (King Khan is known in Bollywood for his late entries at events!) but nobody quite minded it since it's such a pleasure to listen to his tales.
'Chennai Express' was evidently a shoot that made Shah Rukh and Deepika do funny things! King Khan, looking dapper in a white jacket, light blue shirt and black trousers, revealed how he once had to carry Deepika in his arms and climb 800 steps for a shot! If carrying Deepika was difficult, handling a lungi was perhaps more so! At one point, there was a debate about who looked better in a lungi. While most of those who were present quickly chimed in SRK's name, he smartly said, it was Deepika who looked hotter in a lungi! The two stars revealed they had carried their Tamil dictionary along since they didn't want to be caught on the wrong foot!
Shah Rukh behaved every inch the superstar that he was and it wasn't surprising to hear his take on stardom. "It's what I always wanted. I love being a star. I lead a simple life but I love the attention that people give me."
If Shah Rukh was in a chatty mood, so was Deepika, who looked stunning as ever in a sari. "I was a bit scared of him in 'Om Shanti Om' (her debut film opposite him) but he has always made me feel comfortable," she said, explaining her equation with King Khan.
